BAR

Vivid harbor
The city Bar is a vivid port with a modern appearance situated in a wide bay at the base of the Rumija highlands. A pleasant promenade will bring you from the port along the summer palace of king Nikola I. In spite of several beautiful beaches, tourism in Bar has not been developed in the same way like somewhere else  at the Montenegrin coast.

Important interchange
Bar is an important traffic junction. It’s also the end station of the railway connection Belgrade
-Podgorica-Bar. This railway connection is one of the most beautiful in Europe and connects the Montenegrin coast with the mountainous inland.
Bar is also the most important port for ferry transport. There are important ferry connections to Ancona and Bari.

The Golden Beach
In Bar one can find some pleasant pebble beaches, but the most beautiful beaches are situated especially outside the city. In the neighboring Čanj lays a five kilometer long pearl with beach that with good reason is called by the locals Golden Beach.

Medieval phantom city
Stari Bar (Old Bar) is more beautiful than Bar at the sea. It’s situated 5 kilometers further inland. After some heavy earthquakes Stari Bar got totally deserted and it became a immured phantom city. The ruin city has an unseen charm and has a rich historical patrimony. The curiosities of the city are the Turkish hamam, the mosque, the aqueduct from the 17th century and many churches which lie spread all over the historical city.
